You can put two or more notes close together so that they look like a single note, but you have to make a different note each time you want to do this. The whole page kind of functions like a flowchart, in that you have multiple bubbles of text that are inherently separate from each other.
But I found myself almost exclusively using the handwriting tool, which I think suffers from the style that this app employs. In that way, it’s probably one of the best organizational tools out there. It’s the virtual equivalent of spreading everything you need out on a large desk in front of you. That is, you can have written notes, pictures, and extensive charts all on one page without it feeling cramped or confusing at all. There’s no question that it accomplishes what it set out to do very well. At this point, I’ve had a few months to use it, and I have to say that I have mixed feelings about it. Eventually, however, my desire for a single workspace on my iPad won out. I was incredibly hesitant about buying it at first though, given the fact that it was as expensive as some major games in the app store. Handwriting, pictures, bullet pointed lists, and flow charts were definitely the major selling point of this application. Not only does it allow for the creation of separate “notebooks,” but there seem to be few limitations on what you can do with it. So you can imagine how excited I was the first time I saw Magicalpad HD. I wanted something that allowed me to think outside the box when faced with creative difficulties. I wanted something to take handwritten notes with. I wanted something that I could organize. Despite the fact that I started my search for the perfect notebook app within the first week of my owning an iPad, to this day I remain dissatisfied. I’ve gone from the obvious choice (pages) to popular apps for handwriting like Bamboo Paper and Penultimate. Let’s start off by setting the scene, shall we? I, probably like almost every iPad user out there, am constantly hunting for the best notebook app I can get my hands on.
